The Absence of Smoke and Mirrors
The Absence of Smoke and Mirrors is phoenix's debut book. It is
a poetic mixture of all the things she stands for. It is a vehicle to influence the black/urban/hip-hop community to discover a love of self; her quest to connect the reader/listener’s soul with words alive with energy and meaning. The work centers on what drives her, African American cultural, spiritual, and sexual awareness.
About the Artist: William B. Kissane's work was featured in the 16th Annual Exhibition of Art by Michigan Prisoners hosted by the University of Michigan's Prison Creative Arts Project in March 2010. He is an incarcerated artist at the Ionia Maximum Correctional Facility.
